Hello, I will start off by saying I absolutely loved my 2021 limited. It has been my favourite ram yet. The only thing that it was missing was the power. The only reason I traded it in is because I was having minor electrical issues and the only dealership within 6 hours of me did not give a damn about service. Every truck that was waiting for service in the lot had their windows smashed from people breaking in looking for valuables. They were 100% aware, as I called to tell them my truck was on the way there on a tow truck. They informed me that my windows will be smashed and all my valuables will be stolen. Being 5 provinces away from home, I had a lot of stuff with me for work. I pleaded that they would leave my truck in the shop. They had it for a week and told me it was good to go and everything was fixed. I picked it up after hours. Needless to say they fixed nothing. I drove to the place 6 hours away and they were very helpful. They also let me know the other dealership did not I put anything on the computer. In other words they did nothing. Anyway.. I’m working here for 7 months and did not want to keep having to bring it to that sketchy dealership.
I test drove the 2025 limited ss HO and was blown away by how fast it is. I signed the papers and that was all she wrote.
Good qualities:
- fastest truck I’ve ever been in. It was shocking and it’s amazing trying to pass transports with limited passing lanes like there is here in BC, Canada.
- very nice interior as before
- bigger screen than the 2021
- heads up display is great
- rear view camera is a pretty slick detail. Was tough to get use to but I love it.
(I could not get the heads-up display nor the rear view camera because of the chip shortage thanks to covid)
- had the same hood design as before which is nice
- massage seats were a nice touch for the long drives
- the approach light that shines down from the mirrors at night show RAM. Kinda cool, but I think the ram symbol would have looked a lot better.
Now… for the negative feedback
- the speed on the heads-up display and the dash does NOT match the speed limit. Like come on, really?
- the speed limit that shows on the navigation screen is so small compared to how it was on the 2021. Why change perfection?
- the new navigation I am not a fan of. On the 2021 ram, driving the same highway it would show every single road and service road that connects to the road I am on. It showed every little turn off ( not big enough for a rest area, just a bubble to turn off the highway to take a leak or turn around). It showed all the detail you’d expect, and it was much brighter/better colours chosen on the 2021. In BC while driving through the ice fields, there are many many turns. It was nice to know in advance of a pullout coming so I can get ready to slow down and turn into it. This new navigation does not show any of them, nor does it even show any of the service roads. Also again, the speed limit was wrong a lot of the time. Yes, I did go into settings and try and get every little detail to show from the options but no luck. It would show the big “rest areas” but no service roads/forestry roads.
- another loss for the navigation is unlike the 2021 where there is a search bar and you just press the voice button which is right beside the voice bar and it asks where you would like to go. The 2025 does not have that feature and for some reason when you say to go to some places it does not recognize them. Very frustrating when you are in unfamiliar areas and essentially we paid all that money to have conveniences like that.
- the 2021 limited always showed your signal strength for your phone and so did every other ram I can remember. This 2025 only shows your signal strength when you go into apple CarPlay or streaming Bluetooth. If you’re on the Home Screen or on Sirius you cannot see your signal strength. Not a big deal for some but when you do a lot of highway driving in Canada, you lose service a lot.
- the automatic wipers for 100mph and then stop, then start again at a normal pace and then go 100mph… they are very inconsistent and it drives me insane. Sometime they won’t turn on until you flick it up manually. Dealership doesn’t seem to interested in replacing the sensor or looking into it.
- almost every time I get into the truck I have to readjust my damn mirrors. Why does it not stay how I had it set?
- the body of the 2025 limited, compared to the body of the 2021 limited is somewhat different and I can’t figure it out. I had 2” spacers to give it the beefy sort of TRX look and got comments on it all the time. This truck does not look the same at all. It does sit lower and the back end sits higher. Very strange and not a big fan. Personal preference of course.
- the same wheels and spacers I had on the 2021 I put on the 2025. They are 33/12.5/22 Toyo AT3 open country. They never rubbed at all on the 2021 but they rub on the 2025.
- Sirius radio has got to have the absolute worst signal yet. I lose signal all the time. Just because there are trees 100’ away from edge of the road. My 2011 ram had the absolute BEST signal all the time. I have had 4 rams since then and they have progressively gotten worse each time. Sirius just blames it on a dead spot (makes no sense), dealerships just say it’s Sirius’ issue.
- while using cruise control and going down a long hill on a highway, the rpm’s shoot up to 5000 and sometimes a little higher. I tap the brakes to get it to shift or something but it doesn’t. I’ll try to tap the gas pedal and it doesn’t switch gears either. Seems odd, again dealership didn’t seem concerned.
-Headlights!!! The headlights in the 2021 ram 1500 limited were absolutely incredible! How when you would turn on the highway, your head lights would slightly turn as well. Made night time driving a lot more confident. Why on earth did you change this dodge?????? The 2025 ram has LED, they look good but they suck for night time driving on highways with a lot of corners.
- one more big fail that they did…. The 2021 ram 1500 limited was the only one with the slick vented hood. It stood out. Rightfully so, we paid a fortune for that. After I got the 2025, I was wondering… wow there are a lot of limiteds everywhere now. Nope… dodge just decided to make every damn model look the same. What a joke. You pull a limited up next to a basic and there are very few differences on the exterior. Great for the people that didn’t spend the extra money. Awful for the ones that did.
- although the 540hp ss ho is so fast, it’s kinda embarrassing that it sounds like a Honda civic or a Pontiac sunfire. I miss the hemi rumble
All said and done… I would do almost anything to have my 2021 limited back. I miss that truck so much it hurts. I have been ram my whole life but this might be it. I will only have this truck for 1-2 years and I’m trading it in.
Some mods I am thinking of are a link lift kit. Super simple lift for air suspension. Basically just replace stock link ends with adjustable link ends.
S&B cold air intake if they ever release it.
Possibly catback exhaust. Would really love to hear someone change out headers with aftermarket headers
