My first self-done modification to the new truck today.
Not sure it counts as a mod, just the Mopar factory bed step kit,
but sore muscles feel like it should count.
Parts quality was excellent, instructions good.
No, you don't really have to unplug the wire harness, that's a
safety measure to prevent happening something stupid like
crushing wires with tools or parts. Do have to pop the tie-
down points with a trim tool.
Not mentioned in the instructions is a little knob/hook at the
top of the step's bracket that hooks into a slot in the frame so
you can let it hang while you reach for that first bolt. Nice
touch, whoever thought that up.
It's a bit awkward to wiggle into position, I think removing
the tailpipe end would make that a bit easier.
And 124 pound feet of torque is not easy to muster in tight
quarters lying on my back with one arm wrapped around
the exhaust. Would have been easier without the optional
wheelwell liner, but no I'm not removing that either.
And I'm sure the toolbox wasn't that heavy when I put it away
last fall. Did I mention stiff and sore?
Anyway, all in and done, perfect fit, didn't even bloody any
knuckles. Good day in NW OH.

Wondering how these hold up over time? Every one I looked at was caked in road grime when folded down. Unfortunately they’re mounted in a terrible spot right behind the rear wheel.

The truck I ordered has one included in the package. Just curious how they are after some time.

When I wash the truck I open it and spray it off then fold it back. I keep it clean and exercise it every so often.

This is one of the first things I added. As I have gotten older, getting into the bed of the truck gets more difficult. I agree, well made and easy to install. I use it any time I need to get in the bed. It should really be a standard feature. Congrats on your install!

My 2020 2500 came with it. We put 22k miles on it in the last year, including a 30 day road trip from Colorado to Maine. All sorts of weather was encountered and the step works, acts, looks, etc. as it did when we got the truck. Yes, it catches a lot of road debris and grime, but that washes off pretty easy with the sprayer.
