Does anyone know if the multifunctional tailgate can be added to a truck with ramboxes that didn't come with one. I have a 2020 1500 laramie. I asked the dealership today and they said they didn't think so but i don't know why it wouldn't. What hookup issue would it have? Thanks you any input.

From what I recall, the entire bed would need to be replaced.

It might be necessary to replace the bed on a standard bed truck, but you don't have to on a rambox bed. The rambox bed doesn't need the extra bracing because of how it's constructed. The MFT will fit in the same spot as the traditional tailgate. The only real differences I could see when comparing my non MFT rambox bed and my wife's MFT rambox bed are the strikers that are mounted to the bed sides, and possibly the wiring harness. I"m not sure if you'd need a different wiring harness because of the second release switch. If I get time I'm wanting to get out and compare the harnesses. I just haven't had a chance to do that yet.

It would be a good idea to search the forum on this subject. It's been covered a couple of times before.
