Very few have the multifunction tailgate, and the video talks about how it clears a trailer jack (which I'm guessing the Honda Passport does not).
However, does it block bed access when connected to the trailer?
In the old days, Suburbans often used panel doors in the rear. In those days the other option was a fold-down tailgate with a window that retracted into it, like a station wagon and a little like a pickup. Both blocked access a little, but those tailgates swung open over nearly 180°.
Then came the single panel vertically lifting tailgates...they were totally out of the way. In addition, they provided a little protection from the rain.
From all the pictures the Multifunction Tailgate seems to open a strict 90°. I haven't seen any pictures with it hooked to an actual trailer.
It seems like it would block access. Does it block access?
Note in the video...no sequence with a trailer.
