Hey all, I’ve been reading a ton of posts on Mopar vs Weathertech Vs Gatorback mud flaps, but I can’t seem to find this:
Has anyone installed mud flaps on trucks where they trimmed the back of the front wheel well to improve tire clearance? I’m referring to the sticky in the tire/wheel section where you grind off a tab and zip tie the existing guard to the rear. If anyone has experience, let me know what brand/style you got and any mods you had to do! Thanks

I ordered Weathertech mudflaps last year and they didn't fit. They told me to send them back with a return code on it and they would refund me. I sent them back and never received my refund. I've always used Weathertech mats, but I was disappointed by that experience. How are the Mopar ones?

I ordered the full set of husky flaps. Will see how to fit them in the next couple days- guessing a little bit of heat gun will get the job done.

Update: husky flaps are on all 4 corners!

Rear: Super easy! I’d recommend using a drill and provided screw on the interior edge.

Front: definitely required modification! Put them on and tried to heat gun bend it back. Didn’t work. Went 200yds and that’s all the rub.

I then decided to chop them to fit. If I don’t like the results, I’ll just get another $50 set.

Made the mistake of asking google how to best cut ABS plastic. A dremel? No Way! Went and got one of these:

Works fine. Ugly edges, but gets it done and easy to go around the weird corners on the flaps. Doesn’t get hot on the low setting. I removed the bulge that goes over the old flap with the dremel. Then I used a pocket knife to cut the leading edge off of the lower interior portion of the flap.

Mounted them and all appears to be good. Way better than gravel battering the paint!
