Mopar Accessories Body Side Molding

A few weeks ago I ordered a OEM Mopar Accessories Body Side Molding kit for my 2019 Longhorn. It arrived securley packed with each piece in it's own foam channel and everything looked near perfect in appearance. The kit is manufactured in Tiawan and includeds 8 moldings; 4 for the doors, 2 for the cab and 2 for the front of the bed. Upon removing a door molding it was immediately apparent that it was not straight but was in fact "arched". Three of the four moldings were the same, and due to the fact that they are hard plastic it is impossible to bend them. I was quite dissapointed, especially for $275.00 ( which was a deal), so I returned the kit for a refund. I just thought I would share my experiance with this kit in case anyone else is considering buying it. Has anyone else purchased this kit from Mopar, and if so, what was your experiance?

Yeah, it was definately a bummer! Other than the moldings not being straight, the finish was very impressive. I wonder if the moldings that are on the Limited are also made in Taiwan as they appear identical other than the "Limited" logo. The dealer I bought it from was awesome and sent me a return shipping lable and an immediate refund. I guess I will live without body side molding for now.

Got some chrome vinyl trim off ebay and cut the ends to fit, flexible and fits right in the door crease and body crease, $45.00 and looks like it came from the factory. Looked at a picture of the Limited and matched it, look up 2020 Ram 1500 body side molding on ebay.

They are chrome. The quality of the finish was beautiful, but there is no way they could have been installed correctly due to the curvature of the door pieces.

Bummer. I would like to put those on my truck. I did not realize they were available as an OEM accessory. I may risk ordering them to see I get lucky with straighter ones.

If you do buy the set, please post if they are straight. I was dissapointed that I had to return them as I do want the OEM style molding. I ordered from Athens CJDR and got free shipping. They were great to deal with and I would definately buy from them again.

Thanks for sharing who you ordered from. I was going to order from BAM Parts but I maybe I will order from Athens. Did they give you any trouble about the return? Do you have to pay for return shipping?

No problem at all with the return, and they sent a prepaid return shipping lable. Free shipping was great too.
