My goal is to shorten or otherwise modify these in a way so that they work with the swing boxes I want to buy.
My ideas thus far are:
Cut down the tension handle short enough to clear but leave enough on it to put a "breaker bar" on it to lock and unlock.
Reposition the clamp edge on the handle 90 degrees so it clamps in the same spot but instead of the normal flat clamping style it kind of rocks into place.
Move the assembly to the rear most portion of the bed near the tailgate via a modified brace system.
If anyone has done this or knows of a part already made that allows this I would be very grateful
