Alright folks,
I’ve had my 2021 Ram 1500 Limited since July ‘23. So New-To-Me truck, love the truck. However, today noticed a cable hanging down from under the engine bay. I crawled under and it is pretty obvious the cable belonged to some sort of after market accessory or mod. This is also my first pickup, so I’m not familiar with what might be a common or popular aftermarket add on. This cable runs from the engine bay, is zip tied to the other OEM cables going to length of the undercarriage, and terminates in a two pronged plug near the hitch. The truck has an integrated trailer brake, so it shouldn’t be something like that. What do you guys think it was?
Attached are some pictures of the cable, where it goes in the engine bay near the battery and some pictures from under the dash. When popping the hood I noticed a couple of snipped wires that could be related.
Let me know what you think! My plan is to pull it off if it isn’t connected to anything.
