Hello,
I'm having some issues with the mist/windshield washer fluid function. I have a 2019 ram limited 4x4 crew sb. So when I hit the mist button the wipers activate but nothing comes out and I don't hear the pump. Then sometimes if I wait a bit then hit the button it activates normally, pump comes on and sprays. I was wondering if anyone knew if this is some kind of sensor or temperature precaution or if anyone else has had this issue, or if something is messed up or im not doing something correctly.

Thanks for any help.

Sounds like a faulty pump.

In any case this is an item that would be under the 36,000 mile/36 months warranty.

This might be a dumb question, but are you tapping the button (mist function) or holding it (wash function)? Tap it quick and it just wipes once (no spray). Hold it in and it should spray for as long as you hold the button down and wipe a few more times after you release.

If I just momentarily push the button, all I get is a wipe. I have to hold it down a bit to get spray and wipe. And according to the owner's manual, that's how it's supposed to work.

Mist Feature
When a single wipe to clear off road mist or spray from a
passing vehicle is needed, push the washer knob, located on
the end of the multifunction lever, inward briefly and
release. The wipers will cycle one time and automatically
shut off.
NOTE:
The mist feature does not activate the washer pump; therefore,
no washer fluid will be sprayed on the windshield. The
wash function must be used in order to spray the windshield
with washer fluid.

If you don’t press it in all the way it will just swipe ( no fluid ) but if you push it in all the way it should spray .

All my RAMS(2017-2020) have this and other related issues, went to dealers, all they did was replace the nozzle, Kept the truck for a week, the issue is Deeper than that, till warranty expired recently, and now I have to replace the Entire system, tank, motor and all, so its what I recommend you doing. Bad design.
