Went to get a coffee this morning and noticed front drivers side hub nut was missing - seems like the drive shaft broke!
Has anyone else had this happen? Currently have 28,800 km (17,900 miles) on the truck (2019).

Question: does this nut hold the wheel on - or just retains the wheel bearing?

Going to drive to the dealer tomorrow (very carefully....)

It retains the shaft in the wheel bearing, though it also compresses the wheel bearing. So I would recommend NOT driving on it, as it will cause excess wear on the wheel bearing. At worst the bearing could separate and the wheel could fall off.

I agree. Get that towed in. If it were to come off and cause an accident, you being aware that it's broken and driving on it is something a lawyer would salivate over.

Truck is fixed. 48 hours to ship the part from Saskatchewan to Ontario.
All good now....
