Mirror lights as marker light

So I saw an all LED equipped truck the other night with his tow Mirror lights on as markers. Couldn’t tell if it was just an LED optioned truck, limited, Laramie, sport, etc. But it wasn’t the only DT 1500 with tow mirrors I’ve seen this on in my local area.

I remember reading a post on here somewhere about doing this and running wires, taps, etc. but I really don’t want to do all that if it’s simply just something that can be turned on via AlphaOBD or similar. Has anyone seen this or know if it’s only available on the higher equipped trucks?

Mod to make mirror lights dual running and signal

I am a long time Dodge/Ram owner but just purchased my first new new truck about 2 weeks ago and wanting to make some changes. I am looking for a mod to make the mirror lights become dual running lights and turn signal lights. I have found one for tow mirrors but not the 2021 non-tow mirrors...

That's the post your referring too. I don't believe you can program it. But, I'm not 100% on that.

Yes, but with the large tow mirrors. Most of the trucks I’ve seen with the mirrors like yours all have the mirror lights on with running lights.
