Has anyone had problems with the gas mileage? This truck sticker epa rating was 19 city/24 hwy. I know its hard to get what epa says because they don’t run A/C, flat terrian and such. But every Ram truck I have ever bought has been within a couple mpg. This truck, yes city, Im getting 17-18 mpg but highway at 75 mph is only getting 15 mpg, its crazy. My old Hemi got 18 hwy

Have you tried search? This has been discussed over and over by many people. The sticker is a lie.

I'm about 50% city/highway and get around 14mpg. They don't get the best gas mileage, but I figured that when buying one of the last V8 trucks.

I am at 18 city 24 highway with 6,000 miles on the 3.6L
The number from the OP was what I got with my 2012 5.7

With winter gas my mileage is down to around 16-17 City. In the summer I was getting 17-18 city and I did a 500 mile long trip and got 24 MPG on the highway 70-75 MPH.

You have the new Inline 6 hurricane engine. If so thats great that ur getting 24 hwy.

Boy I really feel bad I get about 10.5 around town.

The problem is not with your truck. EPA estimates listed on stickers have never been very accurate. According to this story, there are 18 employees at the EPA that test around 200 vehicles per year to give you an EPA estimate on the window sticker of every car sold in the country. They mostly rely on EPA estimates provided by the manufacture.

Your current truck is not getting the same mileage as your last Hemi truck because it is not the same truck and there is far more than just the displacement of the engine that influences fuel economy.

The best source for 'real' MPG is probably Fuelly: www.fuelly.com

People keep track of their mileage and upload it to their server. Unlike social media where people are somehow getting 10+MPG more than they should be haha.

Not really a good source. Too dependent upon individual users entering every gallon of gas used and every mile driven. Forget to document one fill up or partial fill up and your Fuelly mileage reads better than reality. Given the spread shown for the same model of truck, I would guess the majority of users occasionally forget to document a fill up every once in a while.

Doesn't the DT 5th gen weigh more? Factor in the axle ratio and similar driveline and you will get lower mpg compared to your old truck.

Compounded especially with you have a Rebel or ORP truck with 33" A/Ts. I get about 12.5 mpg mixed, about 75% city driving like a normal person. If I hypermile it, I can probably get close to the sticker.

yes it is a hurricane with the 3.92 rear end. If I try to keep the speed under 75 and don't have a big head wind it does pretty good. The computer shows 25.5 but hand calculated was 24mpg.
