Mid size trucks

Don't really need a full size truck anymore, thinking about moving to a mid size. Opinions on mid size trucks currently available? Supposedly Ram is working on one, but not until 2027.

I was looking at the newer gmc canyon before landing on the ram. They full of features and have an okay tow rating for a midsize.

Yes. This. Particularly on the GMC and Toyotas.

And if you expect to have any rear passengers with legs, it isn’t a great setup back there.

And now that all but the Frontier are Crew Cab Short bed configurations, they are all neither fish nor foul.

Meaning cabs are too small for people, and the bed is too small for stuff.

Ranger (or Ridgeline!) would be best if you need rear seat space. Frontier best if you want a long bed or simplicity.

Tacoma’s look cool though!

I sold my Tacoma as fast as I could. If you're under 5'7", have no family, and no gear then mid-sized trucks are perfect for you. However, if you have some body mass, hobbies, and family then mid-size trucks have no point as the only trucks. I'd love a 1st generation Taco for trails and country running, but I'll take modern full sized trucks for any road trip longer than 3 hours.

Yea I don't know if I get the point of Crew Cab midsize size trucks. The back seats are smaller then what you find in a Corolla, and the bed is extra short. Now the extended cabs where more useful as a 1 or 2 person vehicle that can also use to haul decent loads.

Thats basically every midsize to be honest…especially after sitting in a full size. I cant got back to a midsize after owning this ram without feeling claustrophobic.

I have owned several truckettes. One buyers regret that hasn't been mentioned is bed size or lack of bed size. I do not even want a 5-7 beds that are on most full sized crew cabs.
