I'm an outgoing Audi owner. I wanted to know what you more experienced truck owners think about 3 options: the panoramic sunroof, the air suspension [keeping in mind that Toronto isn't as cold as Calgary...not even slightly...but it is still colder than all major US cities] and the ram boxes? I cannot afford a new LHorn or Ltd with all of these so I have to budget. All of my vehicles since college have had sunroofs and I really like them. I am also quite impressed by Ram's air suspension [is it a gimmick or does it really improve the ride quality over 4 springs? Rambox is the option I think I can make a call on myself the easiest: it is not a deal breaker for me. I personally like the full sized bed and regular tailgate. So what do you guys with older '19 and up Rams have say about the sunroof and A/S? Is it worth the money way up here in Toronto?

Love my air suspension.
Sunroof, meh. Would rather not have it, myself.
Ram boxes, your call.

I purposely stayed clear of both the sunroof and the 4 corner air suspension. I have a sunroof in my other two vehicles and between my wife and me, we just don't use them, so why pay $1500 or whatever they charge for something I'm not going to use. Same with the air suspension, I'm not an off-roader nor do I need the truck to lower to get in it. RAM Boxes are nice if you need them or can utilize them, is it a need or a want. I opted for the multi-functional tailgate, now I don't have to reach over the tailgate with 50-pound bags of salt or birdseed. Of course, this is my opinion based on how I use the truck and with the high cost of vehicles, I took a longer look at options.

So my way of thinking is: the tailgate I can easily retrofit myself, the sunroof is a factory option or nothing. For the AS I think it's like a factory option that if it breaks in 5 years I would simply opt for the full repair in liue of not checking off Ramboxes or other tech options. "Scap" I noticed you mentioned that you LOVE your air suspension? May I ask why? I have only EVER driven one vehicle with air suspension and it was a Jaguar XKR sports car which is quite a bit different from a truck. What makes AS so special? I should point out that I am NOT a regular tower and so this is purely a ride quality thing for me. Does the AS equipped 1500 ride better than the four spring version or is the benefit of AS more being able to tuck into office towers or back up to a trailer and couple it more easily?

Well I'll add in my two cents since I'm from the area as well and frequent downtown with my 2020 Limited. The air ride hasn't given me a problem yet, it's super smooth and it is a nice feature to have to lower it a bit for those tight T. underground garages. If you're never going off road with it or planning on lifting it (You can but regular suspension has more options for lift) than air suspension works well IMHO. Sunroof was not something I needed but the panoramic roof is just a nice kind of wow factor when people are inside, that being said the seals don't like the real cold weather so be aware of the real high pressure car washes... The rambox system works great for me to store smaller items and having the 120 outlet in the driver side is perfect for having my power tool charger in.

I agree the pano sunroof is a wow factor and if you are in a budget, skip it. I have it and i rarely use it. The coil spring suspension in these rams is super smooth. Probably best in class. It seems the ram boxes would be the more usuful option as a truck

Don't need a sunroof (and don't have one) the air suspension is nice and I Love my Ram Boxes! (y)

You said you like having a sunroof, so get it. The Ram panoramic sunroof is awesome. This is the first one I've ever had and I use it all of the time.

You cannot retrofit the MFT.

Cool thanks guys. Have any of you compared ride quality of the coil sprung 1500 Ltd to the AS LTD? Like literally same truck versus exact same truck just one with coils the other with AS.

I've compared a Limited to my non-AS Laramie. The ride of the Limited is slightly better. All Limited trucks have air suspension.

I agree, I test drove both before I bought my 2020, and the air suspension is a little better ride. However, while all USA Limited trims have air suspension, Canadian owners/dealers have the option to delete the air suspension (even on the Limited) when they order it. So its very possible there are at least a few Limiteds up there in the great white north that do not have AS.

Mid-Michigan here, probably close to your climate. I planned to keep my 2019 Ram a long time and chose a Laramie to avoid the air suspension and fold down steps. I did buy the sunroof option along with about every option available on the Laramie. Be sure to get the blind spot detection and the reclining rear seats are nice if you have folks back there for long trips.
I have the Mopar side steps also.
The only option I would revisit is the sunroof. I really like it but I find I use the electric opening rear window much more than the sunroof because this is the first truck in a while without a cap/topper that covers the rear window.
If you think you will ever consider a cap, not tonneau cover, get the sunroof.
And lastly, if you are on the fence and money is not super tight, the sunroof does give a lot of interior light on cloudy days so it's probably better to have one and not use it often than to miss not having it.

I don't have anything to add to the advice from others but as a matter of pride must correct your statement that Toronto is colder than any major US city. Minneapolis/St. Paul is north or Toronto and has lower average temps in the winter 😁. I thought about getting my last truck with the air suspension but was too worried based on cold weather issues in the 4th gen system - seems from the lack of issues with sir in the 5th generation the redesign works much better in fridgid temps.

No issues with the cold on my Limited through two cold Alaskan winters. I love my panoramic roof too., no issues.

Love my sunroof and Ram boxes. Wouldn't have bought the truck without them.

Suspension I think is a personal preference. I don't mind the springs, but I added bags for towing.

Swapping out that joke of a sway bar is a must too!
