The Longhorn mats have carpeted sections. I have two questions:

The carpet sections are wrinkled as it appears they have elongated from being rolled up and look bad. Will this go away on its own? What can I do to fix this? Dealer basically said, “it is what it is. We can order another but it would be the same.” thoughts?

I expect I will need to remove these sections once the bad weather comes and as I start hunting and hiking during wet and muddy conditions. Can they be removed easily? How? Just tug on little buttons?

Thanks in advance for all comments.

They simply unsnap for removal and cleaning. It’s also handy to remove them if you know you’ll be getting muddy.

I suppose you could try putting them in a cloth bag and shrinking them in a hot laundry cycle. Mine fit pretty well, so I’ve just cleaned them by hand.

Would love to have some thick, wool carpeted inserts (a la Rolls Royce). I hear they are actually durable.

My limited mats are starting to retain dirt and stains. Havent put them through a wash cycle but I have hand scrubbed the driver's side. However, mine do fit nicely still.

Did anyone have wrinkles in their rear carpeted sections? Did they go away on their own?

Do u have a picture of the wrinkles would help to see if its any different from what we have.

Make the dealer replace them. The worst that can happen is they are the same way. Chances are they won't be though. The carped section in our Limited floor mats fit well and are not wrinkled.

I should push harder on the dealer. Any thoughts on these wrinkles? What are the chances they would go flat on their own??

You know, mine's not perfect, but it's less noticeable than yours. It may have settled down a bit over the past couple of years. If it was hot enough outside, I'd suggest wetting the carpet (only) and leaving it out on the driveway for a few hours in the sun to shrink them...but it may be too late in the year for that. You might try laying a heavy, flat object (e.g. stack of books) on the problem spots for a few days (but only if you can do so without "pinching" the carpet).

Looks like it was bent up and left that way, may want to try a nice steam clean and then lay weight on it and see if it flattens out on its own. I would take them out of truck and detatch them first

UPDATE: I put some toolboxes and paint cans on the mat for about 10 days. We had a heat wave here, so I pulled back the moon roof shade and got an additional bake on the mat as well. One wrinkle was nearly eliminated, but the larger wrinkle in the center, (section with the biggest gap between buttons, too) remained.

Went back to dealer with the story and the truck, and they agreed to order me a new mat. Hopefully it will arrive wrinkle free. Thanks to all for your input.

No wrinkles in mine but its not super tight either, its fabric so I'm not too worried about it. Side question. anyone with the longhorn floor mats experiencing tearing yet? My floor mats are literally falling apart, like a huge hole in the mat where my foot rests and the rubber is so brittle and I can pick it apart. Talked to ram cares and my dealer and I think they are going to replace them
