Hey, everyone,

I've researched these forums and the web for countless hours before installing a leveling kit and 275/65 tires. I could never explicitly find images or answers about the configuration I wanted, so I hope this helps someone out there. My 2022 Ram Big Horn is primarily a road queen, so my main goal was to improve its appearance without significantly degrading its performance. After picking it up, I got exactly what I envisioned and couldn't be happier.

Tire Selection
I kept the stock 20x9 wheels because I didn't want an offset. I chose the 275/65 since they are theoretically the same width as the standard 275/55 (~10.8"). I wanted symmetric tire height without stuffing the wheel well, and this size is perfect; there is still plenty of space. The stock 275/55 is ~31.9", and the 275/65 is ~34.1". No modifications were necessary except for the leveling kit. There is no rubbing at a complete turn in either direction, in drive or reverse.

I was between the BFG KO3 and Falken A/T4W for a long time. After watching many YouTube videos and reading reviews, I chose Falken. The deciding factors were road noise and the environment. I live in the Midwest and need something that performs well in snow and ice, and the A/T4W seemed like the best option. I got it up to highway speed and noticed no road noise at speeds over 30 MPH; road noise at 30 MPH and below was barely noticeable. For a Load E tire, they do not handle stiff.

Thank you for posting this! I've been working on exactly the same setup and it really helps to see some real pics. So far I have the level kit installed, and the final step is tires, which I'm ready to pull the trigger on in the next week or two. Like you, my truck needs to be fully functional for work and family, so I didn't want any obnoxiously large tires or excessive offset.

Do you have any additional photos you could share? From a variety of angles? Curious if you've seen any reduction in gas mileage or other reduction in ride quality, noise, etc?

Here's my truck, leveled but with stock tires...for the moment.

Thanks!

Thanks for the pics/perspectives on 275/65R20s!
Like andyvmi, I'm currently Leveled with OEM wheels/tires.
I really like the Sport Laramie wheels and offset..and with the OEM tires and being Leveled, the truck has a lifted look because of the wheelwell gap.
If I go with a 275/60R20 (33") it'll still "look" lifted (fender gap)..and have 0.55" more actual height lift.
The 275/65R20 (34.1") would give 1.1" more actual height lift, but the tires just start to look stuffed to me (because the gap looks smaller) and therefore the truck looks less lifted even though it's lifted more..optical illusions (retired optometrist here). The 275/65R20 route pushes me towards lifting the whole truck another 1" with suspension to keep the fender gap as is currently (which means a total of ~2.1" more lift than my current leveled).
I like the beefier looking sidewall of the 275/65 and extrapolate that it should improve the ride quality over the lower sidewall 275/55 tire...any confirmation of that?? (might tip me to the 275/65 over the 275/60).
Thanks for this thread!!20240909_140711.jpg

2025 Laramie Bilstein's front 2.8 and rear. Bridgestone Ascent 275 65 20.

YES...this is what I'm talking about!

That's the same tire I would go with, and I'd bump my Eibachs up to Leveled+1" (2.625"F/1.0"R) to keep that gap like yours (and how mine looks now).

What's your overall impression of the Ascents in 275/65R20..Overall ride/comfort, cornering/handling, noise/vibration??

Thanks!! Your setup looks great!!

This was my '19 on 275/65 on oem 20"s. I had 5100's max out 2.6" (non ORG) and a 1.5" spacer in the rear to maintain a bit of the forward rake and not look squatted when towing.

I just traded up to a 2025 2 weeks ago and will likely go the same route coming soon, maybe doing 6112's and bilstein spring in the rear, and a 1/2" wheel spacer all around yo give a better stance.

This raised the front of the truck just shy of 4" overall, and about 2.5" in the rear.

I'm extremely happy. They are much quieter than the Wildpeaks I used to have . Drives much better than stock on the Bilstein's. Zero vibration and handles everything great.

Looks great... What brand/model for the 1/2" wheel spacers? I'd potentially be considering a mild spacer setup for a little more aggressive stance, along with stock wheels and 275/65/20s.

As a side note, one of the benefits of 275/65/20s is that in most tire brands they tend to be more reasonably priced... beyond that size, prices spike pretty dramatically. Not necessarily my number 1 concern, but I see it as a side benefit of not going with ridiculously large tires.

This is my old truck (2019) and didn't have the wheel spacers, just bilstein and rear spring spacer.

I plan on getting wheel spacers for the 2025 once I do the level and rear springs. The spacers I'm looking at are the bora spacers. From what I've read, they fit using factory studs, so no need to cut studs for the rotated/offset spacer, those start at 3/4" spacers and thicker.

The 2025 Big Horn now has stock fender flares so I want the wheels/tires to be close to flush with flares.

This is the 2025

Any issues with ride quality having the bilstein’s maxed out? I am about to do this with my truck this weekend and can’t decide what circlip I want to go with…

I’ll figure out the rear setup once I see where I am at with the front… I was thinking about taller coils or even some heavier duty because I tow a travel trailer.

Not really, no binding or clunking noises and did not affect my UCA's after 90k miles I put on them. Also, I work heavy civil construction which put the truck through the paces on my jobsites. It's a bit stiffer than stock, which may be in part to the 275/65 LT tires I put on at the same time so tough to gauge which one affected more. When I replaced the LT's, I went with Recon Grapplers (non LT version) tires and was night and day difference on how the truck rode, 13lb weight shed on each corner made the truck come alive again and not rattle out over washboard limerock roads.
other than that, I was happy with the truck till the day it got traded in.

I suggest that you take measurements from Center of wheel to fender and see how much rake you have stock, and you can figure out how much you want to lift the back to either make it level or maintain some of that forward rake (as I did w/ 1.5" coil spacer) which helps to not look squatted when towing. I had done the coil spacers on the 2019, but for the 2025 I want to do taller coils.
