I have a 2021 Ram 3500 SRW with the HO. Mileage is 32,400 and April will be the end of the 36 month warranty.
I’ve been experiencing a tick in the engine at idle. It’s more noticeable when the truck is sitting on a grade. I also have a surging issue when the truck is cold. The surge has progressively gotten worse. I noticed the surge shortly after I bought the truck. However, it was so minor and sporadic that I didn’t feel a technician would notice it. I dropped the truck off to the dealership this past summer and had them reflash the ECM. That didn’t fix it. Scheduled an appointment with another dealer and explained the situation. They have it and confirmed the surging issue and don’t really know where to begin with diagnosing and fixing the issue due to the CEL not coming on and no codes. I sort of figured this might happen. I have an appointment for the 8th at another dealership that for them to look at it. However, I believe it’s going to be the same story and no solution.
Truck is used for work and I need to quickly come up with a plan.
Any recommendations for a navigating this situation with a truck that’s closing in on a warranty that will expire in the next 4 months or 3500 miles? Thank you
