Laramie sport 8.4 screen surround finish?

Ordered my Ram Laramie sport last week, I went with the Uconnect 4C 8.4 NAV radio option, got this instead of the 12” to keep cost down as I wanted another air ride like my 2016!
Anyways, I have looked at a ton of Larime sports online and I have noticed that some have a black flat color bezel around the screen, and some have a Shiny Piano black one? All the trucks are Laramie sports which has interior black accents as part of the package, I drove one at the dealer and it had the shiny bezel!
Only thing I can come up with is that maybe the flat is the standard 8.4 and the shiny comes on the 8.4 with NAV! Just hoping mine will have the shiny bezel!

You are correct. I can’t remember where I read it at but the gloss black bezel is for radios with nav and flat back are for radios without nav. Mine doesn’t have nav and is flat black.

They are not interchangeable. Both screens mount different ways.

I'm pretty sure the shiney black surround also comes with the premium sound system. That's what I have along with the NAVI. And that's what the deal mentioned also.

I got lucky with the shiny bezel since my truck cam with NAV even though I didn't want it. To be honest, the shiny bezel is more important to me than the NAV since I rather use my phone's Google maps anyways.

The shiny bezel has the effect of making the whole screen look larger, whereas the matted bezel makes the screen actually look smaller.

I'm okay with not having nav, as I wouldn't ever use it. But the matte finish on the bezel makes it look cheap. That's the only surface on the interior of my Laramie that I don't like, and stands out because of it. Gonna have to look into a solution. Maybe as simple as just wrapping it in vinyl.

I wrapped my Lowrance HDS cover on my boat with the same material. It has a texture to it, looks and feels great, tough too. Nice job Windwolf.

Nice job on that Windwolf. Was it difficult to remove everything? I'm not into the carbon fiber look, but I'm wanting to do something with that. Was thinking about just painting it gloss black. Thanks for sharing your pics.

Looks very nice and better to keep clean than my piano black bezel... i hate that shiny part, it looks good for a few days but it gets dirty very fast and then it looks bad.

I actually had it done by a shop that does vehicle wraps. They did it in about an hour and half while I waited so I don’t think it was to difficult to remove it. If you were to use a vinyl wrap you could design anything you wanted. I thought about doing that too but went with carbon fiber to match the subtle accent above the bezel and in the door panels. They charged me $120 to do it.
