My lanesense is been activated for the last 2 weeks Keep it on all the time.
Today I was driving and suddenly lanesense turned off . Wait for couple seconds to see if turns back on but it didn’t. I have to manually turn it on again.

I live in AZ and we have a lot of straight flat roads here. If I am going straight for a period of time LaneSense will “detect” that I don’t have my hands on the wheel (evidently because I haven’t really moved it) and turn off.

I don’t mean to get on a rant here but it’s a pretty stupid feature. It will move you back into the lane pretty much one or two times but doesn’t really do anything else like a super loud beep or something before it turns off. So if you were actually incapacitated or asleep at the wheel essentially it might save your life on the first curve but if you don’t get your **** under control after that you’re dead.

I think it's interesting it gives you 1 or 2 warnings on the dash then notifies you it is turning off. It's almost like it is telling you that it has recorded the driver doesn't have hands on the wheel in case of an allegation regarding faulty equipment.

If I recall, it only activates when the vehicle is over 40 mph and it also deactivates on brake press or turn signal initiation. These limitations are in addition if the system detects that you have no hands on the wheel. Hopefully this helps.

It will also deactivate if it cannot 'see' the lines on the road...

It doesn’t “turn off” in these situations though it just isn’t actively correcting as indicated by the icon in the instrument cluster. If it is white then it is engaged but can’t detect the lane markings or your speed is not high enough. If it is green then it is on and can detect the lines.

When it thinks that you no longer have your hands on the wheel for a period of time it will actually turn off and you have to press the LaneSense button to re-activate it. I have had this happen to me on regular straight driving and if I see the warning I just give the wheel a little shimmy and we are all good.
