Hey guys. Just bought a pre-owned 2021 ram rebel 5.7 (non etorque) and already having some serious issues. Im not here to bash ram, cry or complain. I love the truck. When I actually have it and its not in the service department... I find myself taking it over my widebody charger and my chrysler 300. But, it only has 42k miles, absolutely excellent service history and is in better condition than any other truck ive seen with 40k plus miles on it. First issue... leaking oil from above the filter housing... I believe its the oil temperature sensor and the ram dealer i got it from refuses to repair it even though I noticed it a day after purchasing it. I'm not too concerned with the leak. I know it is something simple, but still annoying. I will never do business with that dealer again, literally the worst experience ive ever had with a dealership. They tried to convince me the oil leak was condensation from the ac lines hahahah. Issue two... I started it up one day and heard a tapping noise, figured it was the manifolds so I took it to the dealer and they agreed to fix it under powertrain warranty (no big deal and this dealership is awesome, ive done a lot of business with them before.) Issue three... they call me to tell me the manifolds are done and all went well, but its still ticking and they will call me back after further diagnosis. Long story short, they are replacing the cam and all lifters under powertrain warranty as well. Im in a loaner and the service center i went to is awesome to deal with... so I'm not really complaining. But, I am a little concerned with long term reliability and haven't really heard of a lot of 5th gen cam and lifter issues at such so mileage. Any input or advice from anyone? Just trying to get some feedback on what to expect and if anyone has had relatable experiences with their ram. Thanks guys!
