I installed the Mopar integrated TBC system (switch and modular) on my Laramie 1500 with the OBDGenie RAM trailer brake controller programmer and FCA security gateway nodule bypass device. I followed the directions and watched video on install from Infotainment on how to do it. It fairly easy to install. After the install and programming, everytime I start my truck the I get a “service trailer brakes” message on the dash and then it goes away. Assuming this not correct and needs to checked out. Has anyone installed this and had the same experience
Also, when navigating to the trailer settings I can see the gain setting (-5%) and use the manual trailer brake slider to see the % go up. It also adjusts as I apply pressure to the brakes. NOTE: I don’t have a trailer connected to the truck. Is this normal?
I don’t have a trailer (yet) to connect in order to check if the system is working correctly.
