Been running jeeps for a long time, now into a 2019 Ram Classic with a 5.7 liter! I don’t go by the manufactures recommended mileage nonsense, so I figures it was time to ask some questions to see who’s had the best experience with some ignition parts.
1) Coil Packs
2) Spark Plugs NGK Iridium or Laser Iridium

Oh, and one last question, Is there a way to PERMANENTLY shut down MDS other than using the ERS shift control?

The only way to shutdown MDS is with a device that plugs into the ODB port. I think the Tazer does this, but I'm not sure.

so your questioning the manufactures on to long of mileage or to short?
and why shut down MDS?
great system and i have yet to have any issues with it

There are MDS delete kits available, but it's more than just electronics, involves replacement of the MDS lifters. Havent heard anything about ignition upgrades, the Hemi already has twin spark so maybe there isn't any room for noticeable improvement. Not looking forward to changing 16 spark plugs, might let the dealership have that one :cautious:

Tazer DT does a lot of things, but it will not disable MDS.

Tazer will not disable MDS, but Pulsar does. Changed out plugs and coils on my Challenger 6.4 at 10k miles just to see if aftermarket claims were valid... there was no difference in performance or idle quality. IMO ignition is very efficient as is, I will wait until the miles or an issue arises before I replace the components in my Ram
