How to: Upgrade Uconnect 4 to Uconnect 5

Here’s a walkthrough of how I retrofitted the Uconnect 5 system into my truck that came with Uconnect 4 from the factory.

Overall it was an easy upgrade and took all of about 45 minutes to knock out.

Would it be cheaper to buy the parts separately and program with Alfa OBD? Or do I need to buy the kit?

I just did a UC4 to UC5 upgrade, just swapped the screen and module. Everything is working without having done the obd or bypass yet. What does obd and bypass do? Is it necessary to do if its working now?

One thing I see that I really like is there wasn't an "accept" option at startup. All these nanny controls and warnings all over make enjoying things that much more difficult these days.
