I did a search and have not found anything yet, and yes I know it is designed to be a good thing and save fuel, but I hate the auto shutoff its a pain in the *** to push the button every time I drive it !
Has anybody figured out a way to disable it permanently?
My last truck was a Ford and I used a light bar mounted under the tailgate and plugged it in to the trailer lights. The truck thought it had a trailer attached and never shut off. No luck with this one though.
Got to be a way.

I have not heard of any options to turn it off but that is kinda the whole point of haveing the etorque system.

I think that is why I wrote that I basically understand the point behind it........I bought the truck off of the lot and that is what it had i it. I like the cylinder deactivation, just hate that damn thing dying at a stop.

It won't engage if the seatbelt is not buckled. Not promoting but that's how I roll.

Yea I hate them as well, but then the damn thing dings until you hook it up.

There is a hack to that too. I think it's this but can't remember:

Push start button to run, but not running.

Buckle, unbuckle three times.

Turn off truck.

Peace and quiet but you still get the visual warning in the center console for a bit.

Gotcha

Glad mine does not have it. Sounds like a major pita to deactivate it every time you drive the truck.

So I'm wondering if that would have an effect on the hybrid system, in particular the battery behind the back seat if it is always charging but not expending the energy it was designed to?

Not a PITA at all if one just leaves it on as it was intended. :)

Thanks, Illinois is pretty tough on the seatbelt laws but will give it a look.
