So my lease is up I owe 39k on truck. Have a 2019 ram limited with all the fixings. Only thing I changed were the tires. 50k miles on it. Not going to return it due to me being over miles so deciding to buy it or sell to my buddy. Got into a fender bender a while back. My fault and didn't go through insurance. Post pics below. How much you think it'd cost to fix this. There's a dent on the bed side as well as the rear door side as you can kind of see.

My buddy wants to be it from me for 44k so I'll make 5k off it. Does that sound like a reasonable deal?

I don't have an estimate for you, but that' looks costly. Body shops don't charge for estimates. I suggest you take it to a few body shops to get real estimates.

That's what I thought. My buddy will take it as is for 44k so seems like a good deal for me

I wouldn't base it off just that, check out what the market is like for the same year/mileage/options as yours and deduct the estimate for the repairs. I don't know what the used prices are like currently for 2019s but I would certainly check that as well.

It's gojng to be costly repair as it appears cab corner is damaged as well so bed will need to removed. Just FYI depending on state you may need to pay sales tax on buy out prior to flipping it to your friend. Just something else to take into consideration.

Thanks man yea the 39k inured tax and everything

The bed doesn't look too bad, that may even be a PDR repair. The cab on the other hand is a whole different story, that looks like it will be very difficult to pull and likely to cost $$$ for repair.

If you're set on getting rid of it and your buddy is offering $44k as-is, I'd take the money.

I was thinking the same

If run it though carmax, vroom, carvana and get a quote both damaged and undamaged and compare. You might be surprised. I would also find a good PDR place in your area and ask their opinion I’ve seen those guys work wonders I’m pretty sure the bed could be popped out the cab may be a different story but before you jump in for the $5k profit make sure your not screwing yourself this is your vehicle after all and anything you get to replace it you may be paying more then you would of years ago with the current vehicle market the way it is.
