How do you remove a reply to a thread before you post?

A few times I've started to reply to a thread and then decided to not reply. Problem is I'm haunted with the reply sitting on the thread.

I've ended up entering nonsense just to get it to go away.

Seems like it should just go away if you back out of the thread. On this forum it doesn't.

There is a disk icon in the toolbar called drafts. Click the drafts icon and click delete draft.
