Long story short, my tail light housing got busted by some guys doing work for me loading scaffolding into the bed of the truck.
No big deal, it’s plastic and easily replaced.
go to local dealer, order a new tail light assembly, wait a week, and go pick it up.
when I went to install it and pulled out the busted light; however, the turn signal bulb is completely different...everything from socket type to the bulb and even the bulb color
Here’s the new part:

Vs the old one:

thoughts? Used my vin to order the part, and it’s not like it’s LED vs halogen or something like that.....

Strange. It's possible that the incorrect part arrived in the correct box, or an incorrect part number label was placed on the incorrect part. Rare, but it does happen. What year and model is this Ram?

Best regards,
Dusty

2019, New body style.

after I sat down again with my original light, I found it’s pretty easy to take the entire wire harness and bulb assembly off, so later today I plan to pull the new one back off the truck to see if I can simply swap the harness out; assuming the new light is as easy to separate from the harness as the old one was

Can't zoom close enough, does that part number end in AE? That is probably 3rd or 4th revision of the tail light. What is the broken tail light part number?
