Alright, I need help figuring out what has gone wrong with my attempt to bypass the hood latch for remote start.
I want to preface that I DO NOT have the hood latch sensor but I DO have the purple wire in Pin 11.
I cut the wire going into Pin 11, I tapped the remaining wire going into pin 11 at the BCM to a 1k resistor, and grounded that wire near the BCM to an existing ground.
In Alpha, I have set remote start to present, hood adjar to present, and the hood adjar reading to 1k ohm
When I try to remote start, it says "remote start cancelled. hood open" on the dash.
If I set the hood adjar to not present, nothing happens but a horn chirp when I press the remote start.
How do I get rid of the hood adjar warning but get remote start? What am I doing wrong?
I have driven over 30mph several times with the hood adjar warning and it has yet to go away.
Also, before cutting the pin 11 wire, I tried t tapping it to ground with a resistor and had the same result. I cut it just to try something else but I left enough to re attach.
