I’ve tried asking in a ram Facebook group but no luck, I have a magnetic strobe light for the roof of the truck and wonder if anyone has suggestions how or where to run the wire. I’ve been told through the third brake light but I’m not convinced that’s a stellar idea. Any input on the matter is appreciated!

Where else would you run it besides the 3rd brake light?... Rams 3rd brake lights leak enough by themselves so I wouldn't want to do that either but where else are you expecting people to suggest? Lol I guess you could cut a hole in your roof and silicone it

I was thinking through door, or down the windshield into engine bay and up through the footwell inside idk never done it.

Yeah idk... What's it for? Stuff that sits inside the engine bay is always easy enough to run thru the firewall but idk about on top of the roof... 3rd brake light would probably be your best bet, but seal the hell out of it or you'll have water spots all over your headliner.

Unfortunately I’ve already bought a cheaper light that’s low profile. Right now I ran wires rear driver door under door seal and hillbilly it down behind the driver seat to the center console.
End goal is a box with 6 switches on it for all my aux

How about maybe drilling a little hole in the shark fin antenna housing down thru the roof?... Then just seal it up really well?!?

Haha only issue is there’s a wire with the remote for the different strobe patterns, and a wire for 12 v… so can’t put a small wire through anything without the controller or 12v in the way.
I just wasn’t sure if anyone has ran the wires under some molding or something I haven’t thought of to make it clean.
No big deal, just wanted to see if I was alone putting these lights up too.

guess I am.

Under the door seal has worked for me for my CB antenna cable routing. The problem is that the cable will and does scratch the paint on the cab.

Yeah that’s gonna suck. Idk of any other way to do it. I should ask a guy in construction how they run there wires.

I know how we used to run them.
I asked the customer where they preferred the penetration on the roof to be? Proceeded to drill, install a grommet, run wires and RTV`ed it shut.
These were all commercial customers with work trucks.

How long and wide is this cable? There are tons of options for cab entry low on the truck if you can tuck it down the rear window frame. I’d have to get under the truck for better options but first thing off the top of my head would be poke a hole in the little rear under floor cubbies and run it through there.
I’m guessing there’s at least one gromet location between the cab and bed you could poke the wire through bit idk
