Just looking to ensure I'm not missing something in my install of a new Hellwig 7794 under my 2025 Laramie. The instructions called for using their U-bolts and bar bushing mounts, but the new bar bushings bolted right back up to the factory perches, so I didn't use the U-bolt parts.

Were these meant for earlier year Rams or other models? Made no immediate sense to use them on my application that I can tell.

The install was essentially a plug and play effort in all other respects. Only hiccup was having to guess which direction the bar went in since it wasn't marked or visually angled o make left and right side mountings obvious. So I had to guess and got it wrong the first time (it angled upwards instead of down)...

I have the 7793 on my big horn.

Cant say I noticed it angles up or down…as far as I remember it sat flat in the box so it shouldn’t matter as far as up or down.

I used the oem brackets on my 7709, but ended up using the supplied brackets to on my 7793 and haven’t had an issue. I did retain and use the oem bolts though.

Currently have it on the outermost hole (least resistance to movement, but way more than stock) and haven’t really felt the need to increase it at all.

I reused the factory bar bushing bolts for the top bracket holes, as they fed into welded cage nuts on the back side of the perches. Went with different bolts for the bottoms which only fed through open holes, so those got lock nuts on the backside.

As to angle direction, I'd read and saw photos on another Ram-based forum indicating the center section of the 7794 bars sat at a slight vertical offset and that upon installation, the downward angle was considered correct. Not sure how it would make a difference but I went with that in any case.

Interestingly, the supplied adjustable end links even at their fully bottomed thread limits, still ended up being longer than the factory links, but the bar ends are still generally parallel with the ground surface so not appearing to be of any concern. I installed them in the forward-most holes of the bar (going towards vehicle front) to see how much effect it'll have at the tightest setting.
