I purchased a 2025 ram big horn with the SO twin turbo yesterday. When i parked it and turned if off I heard a noise in the front drivers side wheel well. when i put my ear in it it sounds like a fan is running. kind of like the fans of a home computer moteum or rooter. It ran for 19 minutes before finally turning off. when i popped the hood, the engine was emitting high heat. I figured it was the initial drive and maybe was alittle hotter then usual for that reason. i figured i would drive it again today to work to see if i ran into the same issue again. sure enough when i got to work i heard that noise again when i turned the truck off. Again, 19 mins before it turned off. Does anybody know if this is normal? its my first twin turbo engine. thank you

Don't recall those noises coming from the Ecoboost in my F-150. It's been a minute, but I would think I'd remember that. Different design I guess.

I had read in other threads it was normal, but I really haven't convinced my brain that it is. Noises tend to lean towards an issue. Guess I'll have to recalibrate my normal.

Modern EcoBoost motors, like the 2.7 in the Bronco, have electric water pumps cooling the turbos. Smaller and older EBs did not.

And they stay on for 19 mins after the engine is turned off?
No clue. And on my HO, they run for a few minutes, never 19. I'd ask though how hard you're accelerating and how long you're driving. If you constantly bang it around 3000-5000rpm, I'm not surprised they run longer.

I would say mine runs for 15-19 minutes after turning off. I've never officially timed it.
