Ok sounds i have a 2020 ram i was cleaning it out today and sprayed index on a rag and cleaned the push button starter then the truck wouldn't start or starts and revs to 4k idk what to do any ideas? 5.7 53k miles
 
Make sure your floor mat isn't stuck on the gas pedal. Any chance you have a throttle control device like a Pedal Commander?
 
Mats not on the gas pedal all this happened after cleaning the push button cause it had something in it
 
How much Windex did get into the KIN (keyless ignition node)
It might recover after drying out.
Revving to 4k is little odd but who knows with the modern electronic control circuits.

Just sprayed it on a paper towel and wiped it,after 7 hours truck started like nothing ever happened
 
Has nothing to do with it, button has 4 wires, power, ground, switch position and mux. None of which control any part of the engine/throttle. Pull negative and positive battery cables, touch them together for 10 seconds to discharge the capacitors and reset the systems.
 
When you had the windex in your truck, did you spray any on the windshield? And if so, did any of it run down to the base where it meets the dash?

No need to touch battery cables together. Just remove the negative terminal for a few seconds and reattach. There is no magic capacitive discharge that happens when you touch them together .

Incorrect grasshopper, takes longer than a couple seconds to reset the system. Its literally in the manuals to do a complete reset without waiting you touch them together. Systems stay active for quite some time. Do what you do, I will do it correctly

Agreed. I learned many years ago that you can discharge the system by disconnecting the negative lead and holding the brake pedal down for 30 seconds. That was when everyone had incandescent bulbs and the electronics in vehicles was much less complex. It was also before anyone started putting more than one battery in cars and trucks (other than diesel). I honestly don’t know if that would completely discharge the system in 5th gens.

I don’t think it’s a good idea to give advice that can potentially damage someone’s truck. Etorque equipped Ram 1500’s have a 48v battery in addition to the main 12v battery. What happens if someone with an etorque short circuits the pos and neg battery cables? Or Hurricane equipped Ram 1500’s have a secondary battery. I don’t know if the OP has etorque or not, but just throwing out advice without thinking things through is irresponsible.

The build sheet doesnt say its torque but I posted lastnight that after 7hrs I syarted and drove like it never happened actually drove it to New orleans this morning thank you guys for all the help,DONT CLEAN YOUR PUSH BUTTONS

Thank you for that seems like touching them could have negative consequences so I just let it dry
