I have a 20129 Ram 1500, and when I turn on the heated mirrors, in only a short while I can feel the heat in them. I just bought a 2023, and the mirrors are supposed to be heated, but after several minutes, I can feel no heat. I have only tried this in temperature no lower than mid 60s, so I thought that maybe they were thermostatically controlled, and only work when temps are down near freezing. Anyone have any thoughts on this idea, or are my mirrors just not working?

I'd wait until there is ice on them or condensation on them, then test. Or use a thermo camera or non touch thermometer.

I haven't felt mine, but they are likely designed to warm up just above freezing, which is all that's needed to melt the ice.

I'd wait until there is ice on them before worrying that they don't work.

I don't get ice here in Central Florida, but I do get condensation from time to time. The heated mirrors get rid of that condensation. You don't need ice for them to work I don't think. That's what I remember although it has been quite a while since mine have fogged up.

It would be nice to turn them on when its humid but unfortunately they only turn on when cold out.

Just thought I would put this here from my owner's manual. Says they come on with the rear window defroster. No mention of temperature. Maybe they just forgot to mention a temperature dependence?
