So I have a '21 Laramie and in the owners manual it says that the heated side mirrors are supposed to activate when the rear defroster is turned on. Is the little heater icon in the mirror supposed to illuminate like the blind spot indicator does? I had a sheet of ice on both mirrors the other day and the rear defroster was on, but ice never cleared off mirrors and icon never illuminated.

Big Horn with heated mirrors here, I dont think I've noticed the icon illuminating, but I also haven't had rear defroster on that much, either

The icon doesn‘t illuminate . As long as your rear window defrost is on the heated mirrors are on . They do take awhile as I’m pretty sure it’s a low heat .

I've never seen an icon light up either, but I'm pretty sure they work as I've never had fogging/icing issues with them.
