Heat related CarPlay issue?

I’ve noticed a few times when I get in my truck after work around 5pm (Black Laramie in Texas summer heat), that when I plug in my phone, nothing happens. No charging... no CarPlay. Everything else seems fine. I drive for a while 15-20 min and it becomes available. I’ve tried a new apple cable and different USB ports.

Anyone else ever hear of this? I’ve been searching and all I’m seeing are more random or persistent issues.

Is it CarPlay, or is it the USB ports in general?

My issue has not returned, but there are hopefully lots of hot sunny days left before winter comes back.
