Just curious,

On my other cars that have HD radio I am able to select alternate broadcast for the stations that have that.
is the functionality there? or the HD radio just improves the sound?

The ability is there. I had the same question a few months ago. Tune into an HD Radio station that you know has multiple broadcasts. Let the U-connect complete the HD Buffering process. Once Buffering is complete, Hit the tune up/down button and the radio will tune into the other broadcasts for the same station. If you attempt to tune before buffering is complete, the radio tunes into your next stored station.
