Hard to open and close tailgate with Access Tonneau Cover

I installed an Access Original tonneau cover tonight, and the tailgate binds when opening and won’t go down on its own. When I close it, I have to slam it pretty hard to get it to close and sometimes it shows it is ajar. I double checked to make sure the rails were all the way to the forward touching the bulkhead.

Any other suggestions?

I have the same cover on mine and aside from it freezing in the winter months here I don't have any problem with it . I do close the tailgate with a little force though as I always have .

My retrax was like this for awhile until I used it a bit. Closes better now
