Had a weird thing happen, now what?

Hi all. Merry Christmas.

Wondering if anyone might be able to help me out?

My truck is in a no start condition. It will not start unless jumped. I put a brand new battery in it, and still it won’t start unless jumped. So that’s probably something simple like a starter that needs to be replaced.

But the at some point following battery replacement and jumpstart most of the electronics in the truck have disappeared from the Uconnect screen and/or physical buttons not working as expected. Back up camera no longer present on the screen, parking sensors don’t work, passenger heat/ventilated seats, not present on the screen only driver, and Climate buttons on the dash will make temperature go from full high to full low, but do not increment upper down. Very weird how things have just disappeared from the head unit and/or stopped working.

Anyone encountered anything like this? Wondering if something got fried with jumpstart’s and or battery replacement? Or wondering if there’s a way to refresh that you connect unit to get things to come back to normal?

If it will start with a jump start, it's not the starter. And still points towards battery or bad connection at the battery.

As far as your other questions al perfectly normal after a battery replacement and all functions will return within a few hours.

It is normal for many of the trucks accessories/options to not work for a some time after a dead battery or battery swap.

If you are able to jump the truck at the battery terminals it should rule out any issues with the starter or connections between the battery and the truck. I’d get the new battery tested and make sure all connections to it are tight and clean.

Thanks all. As you said all the touch screen and dash buttons came back and resumed working again by the next morning.

As for the starter issue, still battling that but I see there are several other threads on here discussing similar so I’ll research those.
