Getting new tires today and need help on size

I’m getting new tires on my ‘21 1500 today to go from a 6 ply to a 10 ply tire for towing. My truck is leveled and the 275/60/20s it has look too small to me. The guy at the tire shop is recommending I go with a 275/65/20, but I’m thinking 285/60/20s might be the better move for appearance sake. I’d appreciate your opinion. The picture with my current tires I’m replacing.

I ran 295/60R20 on my '20 with the ORG suspension and a 1" level in the front. It was absolutely the largest I could have gone...couldn't slide a sheet of paper between the tire and splash guard at full turn.

To do it over again on that truck I would have gone with 305/55R20 because to me the width looks so much better and you still get a 1" bump in diameter also.

When you say “too small” are you saying you want to fill in the wheel well more? If so, the 275/65 gets you 1” more diameter, which would fill the wheel well just a little more. The 285/60 gets you 1/2”. Try www.tiresize.com to compare tires. It will give you the spec differences.

Here are some pics of my new 2025 with 285/60R20 (33.5x11.5) tires and 20x9 +1 wheels. It has a stock ORP suspension. It has maybe 3/4" clearance on the front outer wheel well when turning. I debated getting 295/60/R20s, but I am not sure they would have cleared.
