Yeah, I'm one of the people who don't like the dial gear selector, but can live with it. What I really don't like is the +/- limiter buttons on the steering wheel.
And no, I don't want paddles. Those are okay on a racer with half a turn lock to lock steering, but not what I would want on any kind of street vehicle.
So I thought, what if I could mount an alternate set of switches somewhere else, like the side of the console for example, and wire them in parallel with the steering wheel buttons.
Who can tell me what the wiring is like? Are they individual switch lines, or in some kind of crosspoint matrix, or with resistors? And is there a convenient place to tap into the wiring, like maybe where the clockspring lines come out of the steering column?
Thanks for listening to my crazy ideas!
