Gator EFX Hard Folding Tonneau Cover rails not sitting flush

I just installed my Gator EFX Hard Folding Tonneau Cover. The tonneau rails don’t sit flush. My first thought is it was due to the plastic bed rail liners that came installed on my Ram Rebel. I’ve installed the clamps to spec and they fit in the clamp grooves. I don’t want to over tighten them. This prevents the cover from latching.

Has anyone else encountered this?

I have the gator fx, not efx like yours , but my clamp is sitting in the groove at the bottom unlike yours, maybe try that.
