I don't know how true or accurate it is, but when I picked up my G/T from the dealer yesterday, one of the sales guys said that Ram is already discontinuing the G/T. Anyone else hear this?

I think GT package should be a standard on the Ram 1500, CAI & Cat Back Exhaust an option.

If the CAI and exhaust had been an option I would have bought it. The seats and shifter are not a big attraction to me, but damn that exhaust sounds good.

I'll tell you what, the seats are one of the reasons I bought a G/T. Ventilated/Heated, and the grey trim and suede inserts are nice. The exhaust thus far has been somewhat of a letdown. From behind the truck it sounds better than any video I heard... But...From inside the cabin, it is so much quieter than the MBRP muffler I had on my BigHorn, and not as deep either. I am sure it will sound better as the truck gets a few miles on it, just as the last one did, it is just a matter of how much.

I actually do like the shifter. I know some guys don't think much of it, and that's fine, it's not for everyone. IMO it beats the **** out of having a dial. And the Ram Air Intake, that just flat looks cool!

had the MBRP on my gen 4. I went with side exit...ooopsthat thing was load

My dealer had mention a possible full line order stoppage of all Rams for a couple weeks.

I hope this doesn't predict bad news for those of us with GTs on order. I bought the GT package SOLEY for the shifter. The interior queues are fine, and the exhaust and intake can be had aftermarket without an issue. But I can't say how much I hate the dial-o-shift. I need that shifter, it's where I rest my hand 90% of the time.

Same here. That was definitely what put me into motion on ordering the truck.

Good Luck in getting yours!!

The CAI and exhaust are an option for every 1500 Hemi. It's called a dealer installed accessory.

Heated/ventilated seats aren't part of the Laramie GT package. Every Laramie comes with that.

I'm right there with you, the shifter itself was a complete no-go for me. So much wasted space on the console...for what? The dial is out of the way and makes much more sense IMO. That being said, I would have chosen the CAI and exhaust had it been an option available.

It was an available option , just had to ask dealer to install it

But, the snazzy G/T seats are ;). Black seats with gray trim to go with my gray truck - Fantastico!
I looked at the Ram website and my non-GT Laramie has the same color seats, but it looks like the bolstering is better on the GT seats.

I think the bolstering looks more pronounced than it actually feels. It's not bad, mind you, but not the same feel as the seats in a Charger or Challenger, for example.

For me, I'll definitely take a factory installed CAI. Also the paddle shifters, but I rather have the standard rotary shifter and the better console setup that comes with it.

Yeah, it might be an optical illusion the way they stitched the accents. My seats are definitely comfortable, but they are a little flatter than I prefer. I suppose they need to fit a "wider" range of customers. 🤣

Actually, I the more I think about it the more I would like the paddle shifters. Nothing against the handle in the center console, that part just doesn't matter too much to me and I think I prefer the added storage without it.

Yeah, there is no reason they can't have a position on the rotary dial for manual paddle shifters
