So I think when I brought my Ram in for a Trans. Software update, someone there blew a fuse. Particularly the 12volt cigarette power outlet. Per the user manual, says spot 54 yellow 20A for the outlet. Looked under hood...there isn't a fuse in the 54 spot. Anyone have any insight to this? Just FYI...the outlet was working fine until I brought the truck into the service department. Thanks in advance!!!

its in the cab, under the steering wheel, grab that panel under the steering wheel and pull it out to access the fuse. I switched mine from constant power to ignition

How did you switch it? I plug my dash cam into the top outlet and would love to not have to unplug it every time I turn off the truck for a lengthy amount of time.

You just move the fuse over. There are 3 slots for the fuse, the middle is shared, the left is constant, the right is ignition.

Oh ok, thanks! The manual was stating there's only one fuse box, of course I knew better...just didn't know where the second one was. The panel just pulls out? Don't need any tools to carefully pry it?

Should've asked this before buying fuses....are they mini fuses or the "micro fuses"? I just bought a box of minis and standard sizes...at work now so can't check myself.

I have a question though. Is there a way to see which ones are Ignition or Direct Battery feed without taking a voltmeter to them? Tired of trying to manually search through and find which "non-essential" fuses I can tap that are IGN only.

Not unless they come out with a full repair guide for the newer Rams. From what I understand though most of the non essentials are ignition only unless otherwise specified in the panel/box or manual (like the cigarette power outlet). That's just what I've heard...who knows.

Switch the lighter/power port fuse to battery power and then you will have a vacant ignition feed to plug into and add your own inline fuse.

Hmm I think I've already done that, but I didn't consider just tapping that IGN hot feed. I'll probably do that. I should probably just buy an aux fuse box, but I'll hold off until I get a light bar. Right now I've got my dash cam, exhaust cutout, and soon to be airbag compressor on fuse taps .

Which one did you use for your dash cam?

Just checked because I couldn't remember. I used the 12V power outlet on IGN for my dash cam, so that's out. After reading through my compressor installation instructions again I think I can leave out the IGN tap. It says if you don't use it the compressor will only kick on when I tell it to instead of auto balancing on startup. I don't want it turning on every time I turn on the truck, just when I need to adjust air pressure.

Noticed that the ground illumination lamps on my side view mirrors were not working at the same time my 12V outlet stopped working. Run off same fuse..? User manual doesnt mention those lights in the fuse section....
