I think that you’ll find that the liberals neither consider themselves hypocrites nor immoral. The reasoning is this:

A liberal can quite easily surround themself with a homogenous stream of like-minded thinking. Without much effort they can restrict their perception of reality to only that which conforms rigidly to their views. John Kerry can try to illegally register his yacht in Rhode Island without guilt because every liberal that he knows would do the same thing. They will cheat to reduce their taxes and since they all do it it’s not immoral, since immoral is defined as “not conforming to accepted standards of morality.” Similarly, the rich elite liberals of Martha’s Vineyard only associate with other rich, elite liberals. They all agree that illegal immigration is fine, but none of the illegal trash should be allowed on their beaches. Since they all see that same reality, they can perceive no contradiction or hypocrisy. Anyone other than rich elite liberals are simply not allowed on Martha’s Vineyard. If you or I went up there looking like a redneck RAM truck guy, we would be similarly dealt with.
