Yes, when the pump fails it blows up and sends metal shaving thru the fuel lines that end up clogging the filter and depriving the engine of fuel. The engine just stops running. The entire fuel system needs to be replace. $10,000 plus job. They have to raise the cab off the body to replace parts. Of coarse there's a parts shortage, and the dealer has one truck that has been there for 5 weeks and still does not have all the parts in yet.

If you go past 30 days out of service, lemon law it and get a refund or a new truck. The "parts shortage" is their problem, a lack of planning relying on just in time BS inventory management. The only way they are going to change is if it starts costing them much more money.

Lemon laws vary by state.

Buybacks anyone? All I know is up north here in Canada, our lemon laws are non-existent.... an arbitration plan run by the manufacturers......so you know how that generally goes. Good luck man....but they should at least give you a loaner in the meantime????
