I’ve always tinted my cars and gone super dark all around. I’m getting ready to tint the Laramie again and was wondering what’s y’alls preference on the front side windows. 50%, 35%, 20% or 5%?

I’m thinking I’m going to go 20% all the way around or 35% front two only. So let’s hear it everyone.

I live in Cali and front two windows is a no no and that’s mainly why I’m leaning towards 35% up front. Still dark but maybe not dark enough to get pulled over!?
Maybe?

Also in CA, and two close friends are CHP, so I have some inside info :D I went 10 on all rears, 35 up front, and ceramic on the windshield which is 95% clarity but blocks a significant amount of uv and did make a big difference. As far as tint, like anything, drive like a moron and they may get you. Neither of my buds care about tint in of itself but will use it as a reason to stop if they suspect shenanigans. One thing to do if stopped, roll down the windows so they have a clear view of you and your hands. Makes the stop much more relaxed and less likely to get ticketed for tint.

I'm in VA. 50% is legal in front. I did 20% front to match the back windows. I like the even look, and it's still light enough to not draw too much attention.

In Ohio 50% is legal. I have 30% on the fronts, it may be just a touch ligher then the rear factory glass but the color matches perfect. Some tints have a blue or green tinge that will not match as good as others.

I have tinted every car I have owned... heck I could probably buy a civic for what I have spent on tint in the last 20 years.
20% Express classic Black NR on the fronts, perfect match for both shade and hue. Seriously considering the windshield at 50

That looks very very nice. Did you get the plastics tinted on the pillars as well to match the glass?

Thank you, I have to say I did not notice until you mentioned it, but it looks like the pillars on the Longhorn and Limited is shiny black plastic and on the Laramie and the rebel it is matte.
So I guess to answer the question I did not.

I did 20% ceramic all the way around including the strip on the windshield. But I was going for really dark in the back so people cannot see what I'm carrying inside. The installer I used would not put the light reflecting ceramic on the full windshield because the computer that costs $1700 sits right under it and did not want to fry it when watering the tint in place. I can drop some more pictures in if you'd like.

How does it pass state inspection? Do they not check for that?

20% looks the best...it matches the rears.

I went 20 on front windows (to match the rears factory tint).
Legal limit in TX is 25, but I’ve never had issues with any other vehicles.

I did 15% on front two and the installer placed tint on the back two and the rear glass to make them all match. I did 50% on the windshield. I used LLumar CTX nano ceramic and I could not be happier. I think that there is a higher quality tint by 3m “formula one”, but my installer did not have that product. The 15% on the sides doesn’t look too dark from the inside day or night but it looks very dark from the outside (in a good way). I have had 5% in the past

and it made it difficult to drive at night.
