Last Friday, 16 September, I bought a brand new '22 Rebel. I've had it for 6 days and I went to open the passenger door and I heard a pop. I started to investigate and noticed that the front door and the fender are rubbing and popping off each other. Even more, on the 3 spots that are making contact, the paint is gone down to the metal. I took a video and emailed it to the salesman at the dealer to see what could be done.

He said the day I bought it, that we had opened and closed the door a few times with no problem and suggested something had settled. They're an hour away and can't look at it until the later afternoon on Tuesday.

I read a few posts here where this seems to be a common problem. Has anyone had decent success with the repair? How about getting the paint fixed? I'd hate to have this issue not fixed on a brand new 65K truck that's been on the road for a whopping 6 days.

Unless you want to pay out of pocket to fix this, your only recourse is to go through a dealership. You don't have to take it back to the dealership you bought it from for warranty work. Is that the closest one to you?

Common problem? I've never heard of it and mine doesn't; this is the 1st post I've seen about this, it should be an easy fix though

I've seen a YouTube video of a 2019 with this problem, it's usually the passenger side from what I've seen on other forums, mine is also closer to touching than the right side as well, but luckily doesn't make contact.

It's a pretty simple adjustment from what I read, but you want a dealership who knows what they are doing. I would then just use touch-up paint, should be hard to see on the leading edge especially in black.
