So after leaving the truck outside during Hurricane Milton in Orlando, I woke up to a dead battery. Voltmeter on the terminals showed about 4 .4 volts. Battery is a 3.5 year old Interstate AGM 94R-H7. I tried to jump it but only got power like when you first open the door. Had to open the door with the key blade as it wasn't responding to FOB presses of any kind. No lock/unlock, no tailgate, no active suspension, no remote start. Power steps deployed when door was opened and interior lights were on. Press brake to start message on the dash. No response from the start button. I tried touching the FOB to the start button but still nothing. No clicking no nothing from the starting circuits. FOB battery is good BTW. I tried multiple FOBs (I have 4, another story). So I decided to replace the battery. Got me a Duralast AGM from Autozone, $249. After hooking it up, still no response from FOBs as far as button presses however all other electrical seemed to work. Headlights, interior lights, dash start message. Voltage is 12.5 with a voltmeter.
So basically with the new battery it behaved the same as with the jumper cables attached. No water intrusion on the inside rear, I know what you are thinking RF Hub got wet. However there semmed to be some water unter the hood. Like pooling around the air filter and a little around the edges of the hood line. Now mind you there were 90 mph wind gusts and over 10 inches of driving rain during the hurricane. So I think there was some water intrusion under the hood.
I towed it to the dealer this morning but just was wondering if you guys had any ideas of your own?
Thanks for looking.
