Three month old truck. Went to start it this afternoon and the fob was dead. Let myself in with the manual key and Googled how to start the truck with a dead fob. You just push the start button with the bottom of the fob, and it should start right up. What’s funny is when I got home, the fob was working again.

The battery in the fob probably wasn't dead. And when you started the truck it reseted or reprogramed it.. Just a guess never heard of that happening.

You may want to make sure the battery in the fob is clean and seated properly.

Thanks, Gents. Just went outside and the fob is still working. Not sure what happened yesterday.
Before I started the truck yesterday by pushing the start button with the end of the fob, I took the battery out of the fob, cleaned it on my jeans, put it back in the fob, and the fob still didn’t work. That’s when I used Google to find out how to start the truck with a dread fob.
It does seem that something had interfered with the fob and once I got the truck started, the fob reset itself.
Weird. But at least I now know how to start the truck with a malfunctioning fob.

Stranger things have happened I'm sure

Were you near power transmission towers by chance? Truck startled me the other day when it told me the fob had left the vehicle.... As I was driving to a several hour away destination. It went away after a minute of swearing and patting pockets, and when I was past the power substation. I'm assuming the sensor was overpowered by the noise generated by the power lines.

I don’t think I was by a power transmission tower or station. I was at a local pub that I regularly frequent for beers and a burger. And that’s never happened before. And the fob is working just fine now.

Doh! That 26th character was suppose to be opposite. This is literally what is happening. Computers and programmers still have a long way to go.
