Curious if anyone has a good setup they could share for carrying fishing rods. I have an American roll cover with the rack so I wanted to add something to that that doesn’t cost more than all my fishing rods combined. I don’t care if the rods/reels are exposed but would like the ability to lock it up. Looking to fit something between my bike racks.2B164884-AE2C-42E4-8C14-D7AC7F965FB7.jpeg

Thule acquired a company named Denver Outfitters that started with fly fishing rod roof racks that worked really well, I believe they now make a "Rod Vault ST" that is for spinning rods. Riversmith made a better product in fly fishing and I switched over to theirs and love it, but not sure they make a spinning rod holder system. Yakima also started making fishing rod carriers in different flavors that may well work for you.

Be prepared to spend some money though, they aren't cheap. I found my Thule/Denver Outfitters Rod Vault on craiglist very cheap and it needed some rehab, but I've had the Riversmith version for 4+ years now and its basically still brand new

Hoping to keep this on the cheaper end as I did look at some of those. I may give these rhino rack universal holders a try at some point. Maybe they will go on sale around the holidays. My rods would be exposed but I'm not to worried about that for my needs. Right now they just lay in the back and occasionally things slide around and its a matter of time before something is damaged.
